HOUSTON – Six attorneys from the Houston complex litigation and intellectual property law firm Ahmad, Zavitsanos, Anaipakos, Alavi & Mensing P.C., or AZA, are being recognized among the top lawyers in the nation for commercial litigation in the 2014 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
AZA partners Joseph Ahmad, John Zavitsanos, Demetrios Anaipakos, Amir Alavi, Todd Mensing and Sean Gorman all received accolades again this year. To compile the list, Best Lawyers conducts a rigorous, peer-review survey that includes more than 4 million confidential evaluations by other lawyers in the same and related specialties. Mr. Ahmad has earned selection among the nation’s best lawyers since 2003. He primarily handles complex commercial cases, trade secret claims and non-compete disputes. He is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Ahmad also is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and has been recognized as one of the nation’s leading attorneys by Chambers USA.
Mr. Zavitsanos has been listed in Best Lawyers as one of the country’s top attorneys since 2006. He has tried more than 75 commercial cases to verdict, including those involving oil and gas, financial services, and complex commercial disputes. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by both the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He also is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Mr. Anaipakos earned his third Best Lawyers listing in the 2014 edition. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes complex commercial litigation and intellectual property cases in the U.S. and abroad. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and has earned selection to the Texas Super Lawyers list since 2004.
Mr. Alavi’s 2014 listing in Best Lawyers marks his second selection among the best attorneys in the U.S. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation. Mr. Alavi is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Before joining AZA, he worked as the general counsel for a large privately-held company where he handled several acquisitions of public and private companies.
The 2014 Best Lawyers listing is the first for Mr. Mensing.
